Chuck’s life began on November 14, 1932, the son of Charles Franklin Diffendal, Sr. and Pearl (Ehrlich) Diffendal in Rosalia, Kansas. He graduated from Rosalia High School Class of 1950 and then served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Chuck married Edith “Edie” MauRie DeYoe on November 27, 1955, in Wellington, Kansas. Chuck retired from Texaco Refinery. He worked in the water treatment plant for 40 years. He was an avid bowler and in 1984 bowled the first 300 game at El Bowl in 19 years. He was a Mason, Midian Shriner, and a charter member of the Gold Wing Road Riders motorcycle club for 13 years. He and Edie enjoyed camping with their Toronto Lake family for 17 years.
His loving family includes his wife Edie of 62 years; son and his wife Bryan and Cherie Diffendal all of El Dorado; grandchildren, Blayzse, Eric, Ehryn-Joy; sister-in-law, Sharon Diffendal also of El Dorado; and his great-grand-dogs, Baxter and Noelle. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ted Diffendal. Chuck passed away, Sunday, February 25, 2018, having reached the age of 85 years old.
His family will gather with friends on Thursday, March 1, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Carlson Funeral Home. A graveside service with Pastor Tom Boerma officiating and U.S. Military Honors will be Saturday, March 3, at 11:00 a.m. at Walnut Valley Memorial Park Cemetery in El Dorado.
