Bonnie Darlene (Gaines) Fox passed away at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital on Sunday, September 24, 2017, at the age of 82 years old. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 27, from 5-7 p.m. at Carlson Colonial Chapel. A Celebration of Life Service will be Thursday, September 28, at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church.

Bonnie was born on March 12, 1935, the daughter of Marion and Emma (Strong) Gaines of Phillipsburg, Kansas. She attended elementary school in Phillipsburg and graduated from Phillipsburg High School in 1953. On June 14, 1953, Bonnie married Doyle G. Fox, and three children soon followed: Gregory, Debra and Deanna Gay. Bonnie and Doyle moved to El Dorado in 1962.

Bonnie and friend Iris Lawrence operated Reveille Lane Preschool. Bonnie later worked for First Baptist Church, including working for the church daycare for more than 26 years. Bonnie was a teacher and friend to many children of our community, as well as to their parents. She was a member of First Baptist Church, was a great cook, loved children, reading, traveling, and collecting antiques - especially antique dishes.

Bonnie leaves her loving husband of 64 years, Doyle; their children and their spouses, Greg and Rebecca Fox of Ames, Iowa, Debra Fox and Linda Kello of Aransas Pass, Texas, and Gay (Fox) and Gene Kimble of El Dorado, Kansas; sister, Doris Jean Horner of Phoenix, Arizona; brother, Donald Dean Gaines of Wichita, Kansas. Also surviving are Bonnie’s six grandchildren, James, Jessica and Jaclyn Fox (Jimmy), Tad Greer (Ashley), and Jacob and Channing Kimble; six great-grandchildren, Dalton, Tyson, Leo, Emma, Izabella and Von.
