What a wonderful life well lived! She will be greatly missed here, but joyously welcomed in heaven! (With hugs for all!)

I have so many memories of Hilda and Clarence. Of course I got the famous Hilda hugs. She seemed to have endless energy. More recently, I sat next to her when music was being performed so that we could sing along. Sing along she did, especially with the gospel songs. Even when she didn’t know the words of some songs, I could clearly hear her humming the harmony. I was amazed!
I am so sad that I won’t be at the service for this beloved woman. My husband has recently had major surgery and has a required follow up medical appointment the same time.
I send my love to all the family. Donna

To the loved ones of Hilda: What a wonderful, long life! You will miss her warm "hugs", but please find warmth and comfort as you draw close to God. Psalm 34:18 assures us that He is "close to the brokenhearted."

I first met Hilda when she sold some cemetery plots to my parents when she worked for Walnut Valley. We then would visit her and Clarence after they moved to Newton. Each Memorial Day, we go to Newton to decorate family graves and there were several years where we would stop by. I remember her enthusiastic personality, her firm hugs, and her choice of words such as "terrible great." My Dad said she reminded him of his grandmother with the way she spoke. We are praying the Lord's comfort on your entire family.

Hilda was always a very hard worker, and cared very much for her family. She was a very giving person and one who cared a lot for the Rosalia community and would help in any way she could. She will be missed, and everyone will miss her hugs. RIP Hilda, you will be missed. Sheryl, Max, Bruce and Jan I will be thinking about you.

What a fun and wonderful woman. I’ll never forget those wonderful strong Aunt Hilda hugs and her fantastic laugh. Uncle Clarence had a great companion in life! I’ll also always remember the process of leaving. She’d give you a long hug and say “ewwwwwww” and then pat you on the back a few times. She’d then run around her apartment or room trying to find something to give to you. Makeup, hand lotion, a bar of soap, can of beans, you name it! Then finally, she would want to walk you out. Not just to the door of her apartment, or to the door of the building, but most likely to the door of YOUR car. She was a smart lady though. She never forgot to prop the door of the building open so she could get back in. Aunt Hilda, you were a fantastic human.
