Tribute

William “Bill” McClure’s life began on November 25, 1947 in Wichita, KS; the son of Arthur and Irene (Nuessen) McClure. Bill faithfully served our country in the United States Army in Germany. He was united in marriage to Kay L. Hutson on March 26, 1982. Bill worked for several years at Kneebler Construction, as a ranch hand at Gilliland Cattle Company and retired from Hydrochem as a cleaning technician. He enjoyed watching John Wayne and other Westerns. Bill enjoyed gardening and playing with his grandchildren. His greatest joy was his family which includes his wife, Kay of Leon; sons Derek (Lisa Nixon) McClure of Wichita, Lane McClure of Leon, daughter Madonna McClure; grandchildren Gracie Withington, Olivia McClure, Sophia McClure, Austin McClure, Dalton Crump and Dustin Green; great-grandchildren Blake and Brody; many nieces and nephews; siblings Jim McClure, Debbie (Joe) Vittitow, Cindy (Connie) Sheets, Sheryl (Dan) Setter, Kate (Pat) Price, Chris (Mary Kay) McClure and Ken McClure. Bill passed away on November 5, 2019 in Wichita. He is preceded in death by his step-daughter, Melissa Crump; niece Samantha Price and his parents. Friends may gather with the family from 10-11am on Monday November 11 at the Leon United Methodist Church where his funeral service will be held at 11. Bill will be laid to rest at Leon Cemetery with military honors. Memorial contributions can be made to Leon Fire Department.
