Russell was born 4/12/1932 in Los Angeles CA. Russell 's promotion into Heaven happened on Saturday, 9/22/2018 in Shawnee Mission KS. He had made his home at Village West Assisted Living in Ottawa, Kansas, to be close to Lori and Gary. Born to Lester Paul and Gladys Beatrice (Reneau), he was the third of six children and they were raised as hardworking farm kids. He graduated from Peru High School in 1950. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He married Delores Ann Goddard on Sept 12, 1953, in Independence, KS. She proceeded him in death in 2012. They were blessed with three children, Cynthia Ann, David Russell and Lori Lea. Russell worked as a cowboy, a milkman, a city bus driver, a cross country bus driver and the El Dorado Livestock Auction. His last employment prior to retirement was for the El Dorado School District as the head custodian at the El Dorado Middle School. He was a father figure for many through the years. Russell coached many years and many different age groups in baseball and softball. He loved sports of any kind and was rooting his beloved Dallas Cowboys to a nurse who was an avid Green Bay Packers fan on his last day on this earth - go Cowboys! Russell was proceeded in death by his parents, a brother, Clarence, his beloved wife, Delores, his daughter, Cyndy, and son, David. He is survived by a daughter Lori Colbern (Gary), 10 grandchildren Ray " Boomer" Debita (Rebecca), Marisa Nye (Bryan), Dominic Debita (Kilee), Kris Jesseph (Annie), Paul Jesseph, Amy Evans (Tim), Ande Nash (Justin), Shannon Colbern (Melissa), Shane Colbern (Chris), Jason Long (Erika); 17 greatgrandchildren and 1 great-great grandson; 3 sisters Grace, Betty, Irene (Melvin), 1 brother Donald (Rose), a sister-in-law, Shirley (John) many nieces & nephews and families. We will celebrate Russell's life on Friday, September 28, 2018, 10am at Carlson's Colonial Funeral Home, 200 S Star St, El Dorado Kansas.
