Wilfredo Blanco-Diaz

Wilfredo “Willy” Blanco-Diaz’s life began on October 31, 1955 in Las Villa, Santa Clara, Cuba; the son of Jose and Angela (Diaz) Blanco. Willy worked hard for his family in construction and eventually retired from the City of El Dorado as a mechanic’s assistant. He was united in marriage to Carol Howard on January 7, 1985 in El Dorado. Willy enjoyed fishing and playing dominoes in his spare time. He enjoyed riding on his dune buggy and loved to tell stories. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Willy’s family includes his wife, Carol of El Dorado; children Wilfredo (Austin Letts) Blanco-Diaz of Joplin, MO; Miguel (Sarah) Blanco-Diaz of El Dorado, Ester Blanco of Cuba; grandchildren Elizabeth, Addison, Miguel, and Henry; and 9 siblings. Willy passed away on March 31, 2022 at his home in El Dorado. He is preceded in death by two brothers, one sister and both parents. Friends may gather with the family from 5-7pm on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home at 1pm. Willy will be laid to rest at Sunset Lawns Cemetery in El Dorado.
