Lyne’s life began on February 7, 1953, the daughter of Wayne and Anita (Solomon) Dale in Corpus Christi, Texas. She attended Flint Hills High School in Rosalia and married Stony Thomas in 1973 in Cassoday, Kansas. She was a Medical Transcriptionist working at the Greenwood County Hospital. When she was no longer physically able to go to the hospital to work, she was available to do her transcription work from home.
Lyne was an artist and loved pencil and charcoal drawing, especially portraits of Faces. She was a musician and would play her guitar and sing. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, baking and fishing. She appreciated nature, especially horses. Her other passions included science and other cultures.
Her loving family includes her sisters, Sharon Holden (Larry) of Emporia, Denise Chrisman (Darrel) of Eureka and her best friend, Betty Melson (Glen) of Okmulgee, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews; and her loveable dogs, Sarah and Penny.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Lane and Shane Thomas and a sister, Jan Dale. Lyne passed away, Monday, April 2, 2018, having reached the age of 65 years old.
Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 7, at 2:00 p.m. at Jefferson Street Baptist Church in Eureka, Kansas with Pastor Alan Hunter officiating.
