Tom’s life began on February 13, 1974 in Mason City, IA. He is the son of Byron and Marjorie “Marty” Van Fossen and the late Judy Thomas. Most recently Tom was employed by Curbs Plus in El Dorado. He enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. Tom was a free spirit and a wanderer. He loved to make people laugh and had a great love of animals. Tom is survived by his parents Byron and Marty Van Fossen of Buffalo, KS; children Andrew Van Fossen of Neodesha and Makayla (Andy) King of Colorado Springs, CO, Justin Van Fossen of Neodesha, and Mallory Van Fossen of Iowa; grandchildren Corbin and Oaklynn King; fiancé Brooke Morgan of El Dorado; siblings Todd Van Fossen of IL., Tina Merris of IA., Tammy (David Wiles) Van Fossen of Humboldt, KS, Daniel Van Fossen of El Dorado, William Van Fossen of Buffalo, KS, and Robert Van Fossen of Gunner, CO; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved Pitbull Chompers. Tom passed away on March 2, 2018 at his El Dorado home. He is preceded in death by his mother Judy Thomas. Family and friends will gather on March 31 at 10:30 A.M. to celebrate his life and share memories at Buffalo Cemetery in Buffalo, KS. A reception will follow the burial at the Buffalo Community Center also in Buffalo, KS.
