Terrill Dee LaClef, 77 of El Dorado Kansas, passed away on September 12th, 2023.
Terrill was born to Dallas and Paulene (Ekstrom) LaClef on November 29th 1945, in Belleville, Kansas. He graduated from Concordia High School and then went on to further his education at Fort Hays State University. He was united in marriage to Lynda on September 3, 1964 in Belleville, Kansas. Together they had 3 children and many years of dedicated marriage on their ranch.
Terrill wore many hats as a Husband, Father, Friend, Cowboy and Mentor. He mainly worked as a farrier and was a dedicated horseman his entire life continually training, breeding and working with horses.
As an all around cowboy, he won numerous awards including buckles, saddles and money in calf roping, bull dogging and team roping. He passed on his love of horses to his children and grandchildren.
Terrill’s friends and family will miss his stories and sense of humor. His family includes children, Scott and Shelby LaClef of Leon, Christine and Jeff Wieckhorst of El Dorado, Jeff LaClef of El Dorado. His grandchildren, Zeb LaClef, Zane LaClef, Shannon Kastl, Sharrah Mahanay, Hillary Bradley, Kassidy Kent, Allyson LaClef, Rylee LaClef, 12 great grandchildren, sister-in-law Stephanie Swiercinsky, Kathy Pugh and numerous nieces and nephews.
Terrill was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lynda and his sister Rita.
Family and friends will gather at Carlson Funeral Home on Wednesday September 20th from 5-7pm for visitation.
A memorial graveside service will take place at Economy Cemetery on Thursday, September 21st at 10 am.
