Tribute

It is with profound sadness that the family of Taylor Merie Davidson announces her passing on Monday January 18, 2021. She was 15 years old.
Taylor was born on December 03, 2005 at Susan B. Memorial Hospital to James and Kelly Davidson of El Dorado, Kansas. Taylor was our blessing from God and brought life in our lives. Taylor was a freshman at El Dorado High School where she participated in Wildcat band, tennis, and varsity bowling team. She also played oboe in the El Dorado Municipal City Band with her mother.
Taylor was extremely talented in music and art. She played piano, oboe, baritone, trumpet, and melodica. She could be heard playing music every day in her room and spent hours drawing or doing art. She started her own business commissioning art and her dream was to someday attend art school. She won best in show at El Dorado middle school for her art. She attended Patriot League Honors Music Festival band and K-State Summer Band Camp for 2 years which she absolutely loved.
Taylor loved playing sports and even as a young athlete playing with the city rec she never quit even with many winless seasons. She loved playing catcher with the city recreation because of the action. She lettered in tennis and basketball in Middle school.
She was an excellent student who made the honor roll every year. One of her biggest highlights was winning the Grandview Spelling Bee in fifth grade and then went on to finish fourth in Butler County.
Other interests included attending Anime Conventions, teaching herself Japanese, advocating for social justice, and having lively debates.
She attended First Southern Baptist Church.
Taylor is survived by her parents James and Kelly Davidson of El Dorado, KS; Grand dad Gary Davidson of Independence, Kansas; Nana Dianne Davidson of Seal Beach, California; Aunt and Uncle Kelley and Rick Rigney of Independence, KS, Cousins Sarah and Molly Rigney of Independence, KS; and cousins Brittany Haynes of Kansas City, Missouri and Brayden Haynes of Kansas City, Kansas. We can’t forget her beloved cat Mia.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother Barbara Rigney, grandpa William Rigney, and her uncle David A. Davidson.
For the people who truly knew Taylor, this is the quote from Maya Angelou sums her up best, “At the end of the day people won’t remember what you said or did, they will remember how you made them feel.”
She accomplished more in her young life than most people do in their entire life and she was deeply loved by her family and friends.
