Stephen McClure

Stephen Lyle McClure, of Leon, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at the age of 86 with his loving family by his side. Stephen was born on May 3, 1935 in Leon, Kansas to Raymond and Emma McClure. After high school he served in the United States Navy and went on to work in the construction field. He did outdoor construction as well as aircraft. He also worked for the Little Walnut Township until his retirement. Stephen enjoyed everything outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and shooting. He was known to carry his pistol with him for target practice. He will be truly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Stephen is survived by his children, Sherry (Scott) Cox, Troy (Dawn) McClure, and Kevin McClure; grandchildren, Michele Rodgers, Jeffery, Whitney, Haid, Hailey, and Coltin McClure; several great grandchildren; and siblings, Nadine Phelps and Gary(Janice) McClure
Stephen was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, LaVaughn McClure, Louise Bolin, Glen McClure and Gene McClure.Grandson Jeremy Rodgers and Granddaughter Lindsey McClure.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021 at 1pm at Leon Cemetery.
