Tribute

Stephen’s life began on December 2nd, 1976, in Greensboro, North Carolina; the son of Mark and Brenda (Faucette) Evans. Stephen graduated high school. He was a recent graduate of the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center in December 2020.
Stephen was a loving and devoted father to his three children Nicolas, Alycia and Adrian Evans. He took tremendous pride in the young people they were growing into. Stephen met the love of his life, Andrea Evans (Perry), over 10 years ago. They cherished each other and built a life that they loved together. Marriage was always in the back of their minds, but they just recently had a beautiful wedding ceremony on October 9th, 2021, in Hutchinson KS. The day was filled with love and laughter as they were surrounded by their family and friends. Stephen’s greatest joy was spending time with his loving family.
He loved shooting sports and collecting knives. Stephen enjoyed riding motorcycles and loved his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Stephen dedicated his professional career, proudly, to public service. He was excited to work for the State of Kansas, an employee of the Kansas Department of Corrections he served as both a Corrections Officer and member of the Special Security Team at the El Dorado Correctional Facility. His final post was as a Deputy for the Butler County Sherriff’s Department and as Chief of the Burns Police Department in Marion County Kansas. He loved his job and serving his community, he touched the lives of so many coworkers and community members. Stephen passed away on October 25, 2021, while on duty.
Stephen is survived by his wife Andrea; children, Nicolas, Alycia and Adrian Evans; parents Mark and Brenda Evans; brother Philip and wife Candace Evans; and a host of extended family and friends that loved him dearly. He is preceded in death by his sister Rachel and his grandparents.
