Sherril’s life began on January 18, 1963 in Denver, CO. She is the daughter of Earl and Joan (Jacobson) Harris. Sherril graduated from Cibola High School and attended college at the University of New Mexico. She worked for Master Brand Cabinets in Newton as a safety manger and later a maintenance administrator. Sherril also worked for McDonalds for nearly 30 years as a manager. Sherril was a gymnast in her early years and later was a gymnastic coach; she enjoyed cooking and her Huskie dogs. She enjoyed having her family all together, especially at Christmas and she had a special place in her heart for granddaughter Yasmine. Her loving family includes her wife Amy Kafka of Newton, son Brian Garza of Oklahoma City, daughter Sarice Rue of Raton, NM, step daughter Kyra (David) Henry of Newton; grandchildren Yasmine Rue, Amaris Henry and Ella Henry. Sherril passed away on January 29, 2019 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. She is preceded in death by her parents. Her family will gather with friends on Saturday February 9, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the First Southern Baptist Church, El Dorado for her memorial service led by Pastor David Crook.
