Ruby Elizabeth Eddings, Jones, Walters, age 97 died on July 2, 2022 in Wamego, Kansas.
Ruby was born on January 5th, 1925 to Alfred and Florence Eddings in Ink, Missouri. She had one brother and was the sixth daughter out of 10 girls.
Ruby graduated from Wellington Kansas High School. Ruby married Earl Jones in 1943, sharing a special love together they raised two daughters, Barb and Sandy, in their neighborhood home in Eldorado, KS. Ruby taught Sunday school, worked as the Youth Director of the First Baptist Church, served as a Girl Scout leader, and often volunteered to teach the kids how to water ski. She had a zest for lifelong learning and took continuing education courses at Butler County Community College. She worked at Kelly’s Drug Store and several years at the Eldorado Health Clinic.
Earl and Ruby moved to Bella Vista, AR upon retirement where they spent many hours square dancing, making great friends. They enjoyed teaching their six grandkids to swim and water ski. Each year they hosted family holidays at different locations to explore, including snow skiing in Colorado, always making sure there was a pool for the kids to swim. Earl passed away in 2001.
Ruby remarried to Ralph Walters, building a lovely companionship that respectfully honored both of their families. Together they lived in Bella Vista through 2016 with active lifestyles. Partaking in grand travel adventures they set an example for their grandkids to admire. They later moved Wamego, KS to be with family and then to Green Bay, WI. Ruby spent her last year in Wamego playing hours of Rumikub with her kids and grandkids. She loved to read and go on rides to see the country side. A true gem like her name, Ruby was a blessing to all those around her.
