He continued in civil service working for the Latham Township Fire Department as a trustee and then as a clerk. He wasn’t going to continue working, but he had so many write-in votes that he couldn’t walk away from his community. Ron was also a member of the Masonic Lodge Patmos 97 in El Dorado, Kansas. When Ron wasn’t working, he was spending time with his loving family. He married the love of his life, Faye Wert, on January 21, 1967. Together they shared a wonderful life raising their kids and then later was blessed with grandchildren and great grandchildren.
