Roma’s life began on November 3, 1930, the daughter of Frank and Helen (Morello) Caruso in Capaldo, Kansas. She graduated from Frontenac High School Class of 1948, in Frontenac, Kansas. She was united in marriage to Edward Harold Busse on November 11, 1950, in Miami, Oklahoma and was a homemaker. Roma was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church. She loved taking care of her family by cooking and shopping for others. She enjoyed gardening, growing flowers and making floral arrangements. College basketball was a highlight for her to watch with her husband, Edward.

Her loving family includes her sons, Alan Busse of El Dorado, Sean Busse of Richmond, Missouri; daughters, Cathy Madison and Jana James-Simmons (Donnie) all of El Dorado; brother, Robert Caruso of Pittsburg, Kansas, 7 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Edward in December 2016 and her sister-in-law, Diane Caruso. Roma passed away Monday, January 29, 2018, having reached the age of 87 years old.

Her family will gather with friends on Friday, February 2, from 5-7 p.m. at Carlson Funeral Home. Rosary will be held Saturday, February 3, at 10:00 a.m. with Mass following at 10:30 a.m. both at St. John’s Catholic Church with Father Stephen Gronert officiating. She will be laid to rest in Sunset Lawns Cemetery.
