Roland Wintermote

Roland “Ron” K. Wintermote was born in Benton Township, May 23, 1933 to Roy L and Nellie Wintermote. He was the youngest of four children; Cleda, Evelyn, Victor and Ron. Ron served in the Army Infantry for three years and was stationed in Korea for almost a year. He saw a lot of action and was a Master Sergeant when he was discharged after 3 years of service. Ron married Jean Johnson in August of 1951. He married Norma Ware on September 17, 1999 and they lived happily until her passing on May 10, 2004. He was a well known resident of El Dorado who will be remembered for his welcoming smile, ability to strike up a conversation and his willingness to serve. Ron worked as a car salesman and a barber in El Dorado for most of his working life. His loving family includes his daughter Shari (Mike) Flores of Newton; step daughter Michelle (Jeff) Boardman of McPherson; step son Gary (Janet) Ware of Union Star, MO; grandchildren Rachel Harris, Nikki (Chris) Call, Jenna (Chris)McNeil, LJ (Leah) Harris, Staci Flores; great grandchildren Trenton, Alexus, Ethan, Hayden, Jackson, Chloe, Cavin, Aubrey, Jacob, Kaylee, Zaeden, Zerrick, Kodi and Taliah.Ron passed away on February 24, 2020 at his home in El Dorado. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings. Cremation has taken place and no services planned at this time.
