Robert “Bob” Turner’s life began on May 11, 1927 in Welda, KS; the son of Grover and Nora (Ballard) Turner. He served his country in the United States Army before retiring from a 35 year career as a pipefitter at the Skelly and Getty El Dorado Refinery. Bob was united in marriage to Hazel Demo on June 1, 1950 in Towanda, KS. He enjoyed coon hunting, fishing, gardening, raising Blue Tick dogs and mowing. Bob enjoyed watching football on the television, reading a good book and spending time with his family and friends. Bob’s family includes his children, Toni Finuf of Wichita, Stacy (Susan) Turner of El Dorado, Greta (Dean) Taft of El Dorado; grandchildren Shea Walter, Shanna Dempsey, Dustin Turner, Sara Nold, Justin Laymon, Sheena Debita and Erica Pickett and 9 great grandchildren. Bob passed away on January 6, 2022 at his home in El Dorado. He is preceded in death by his wife, Hazel, 2 brothers, 2 sisters and his parents. Friends may gather with the family from 5-7pm on Thursday, Jan 13 at Carlson Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held on Friday, January 14 at 11am at Sunset Lawns Cemetery in El Dorado.
