Rick A. Asmussen, 61
September 5, 1959 - September 21, 2020
Rick was born in El Dorado, KS to Don Asmussen and Imodean Asmussen. Rick grew up in El Dorado until the age of 17, he then moved to Salt Lake City, Utah to attend welding school where he became a certified welder. He then moved back to El Dorado to start his new career in welding and also an assembler. In 1991, Rick moved to Augusta, KS and continued to work hard and saved enough to build his home in Andover, KS in 2002.
In Rick’s home he enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved being outdoors - grilling, gardening, riding his motorcycle and taking walks with his dog, Jo-Jo.
Rick was a man of faith, a true believer in God. He was a hard working, loving, loyal and devoted son, brother, father, proud grandfather and loyal friend whom will be missed by many.
Rick is survived by his dog and loyal friend, Jo-Jo, his daughter, Jennifer Davis, son, Christopher Sehie, son in-law, Daniel Davis, granddaughters, Nadia Stephens and Eleanora Davis, grandsons, “Jun” Daniel Davis and Christopher Sehie Jr., sisters, Chris Asmussen-Riggs, best friend and sister, Margaret Gomez, Mardena Asmussen-Johnston and Linda Veal, nieces, Chelle Gomez-Martinez husband Raul Martinez, Kelly Gomez and Lea Tharp, nephew, Michael Tharp, uncle, Richard Asmussen, and great nephews Greg Matthews Jr. and Cutter Matthews.
He is proceeded in death by his father, Don Asmussen, mother, Imodean Asmussen, great niece, Breanna Gomez, brother-in-law, Raymond Gomez and nephew, Justin Gaston.
