Rene Kehres

November 30, 1952 ~ February 28, 2018 (age 65)
I.Rene' Lucas Ballard Kehres passed from this life on Feb. 28, 2018, at St. Francis Hospital, Wichita, Ks, after a long illness. Rene' was born Nov. 30th,1952, at Susan B Allen Memorial Hospital, El Dorado, KS. to her parents James William (Bill) and Betty Lou (Carter)Lucas. Both parents preceded her in death. Rene' was raised on the family farm near Keighley, KS., with sister Sherry and brother Mark. She attended Leon grade school and Washington Grade school in El Dorado, Kent-Meridian High School in Kent. WA., and graduated from Leon High School with the class of 1970. She married William Ballard of El Dorado. They had 2 sons, James William and Jeremy Ray. She later married Kenneth Kehres and lived in El Dorado, KS. Rene' was an assembler for Kansas Aluminum, El Dorado, a dispatcher at Pester Refinery,  a licenced massage therapist  and reflexoligist and later graduated from Butler Co. Jr.
College nursing school as a CNA specializing in elderly home care. She also worked for Terramara and Flint Hills Service as a supervisor of adult care in El Dorado, KS. Rene is survived by her husband Kenneth Kehres of El Dorado, her son Jamie Ballard of Leon, Ks, her son Jeremy (Maggie) Ballard of Leon KS, granddaughters  Sophia and Isabella Ballard of Leon KS, granddaughter Haley Graves of El Dorado, KS, her brother Mark (Luanne)Lucas of Leon, Ks, her sister, Sherry Lucas of Derby, Ks. and several nieces and nephews.  Rene' was loved by family, cousins, classmates and friends. She will be missed by all who were honored to have known her. She was also a cornea transplant donor after her passing. Family visitation will be Friday from 5-7 p.m. at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home where her service will be held Saturday March 3 at 2p.m. Graveside service following at Blankenship Cemetery,  Rosalia, KS.
