Phyllis’ life began on March 21, 1938 in Moline, KS. She is the daughter of George and Elsie (Lewis) Clubine. Shortly after graduating from Moline High School, Phyllis was united in marriage to the love of her life Garry VanBuskirk. Garry and Phyllis owned and operated the Dairy Queen in El Dorado for 53 years and still being operated by the family. She was a member of the Kansas Dairy Queen Association, serving on their board of directors for 15 years and held every position on the board. Phyllis and Garry were members of the Goldwing Road Riders Association, enjoying many trips and Phyllis also served on the board and received many awards for her service. She is also a member of the First Christian Church, El Dorado. Her greatest joy was her family which includes her husband Garry VanBuskirk of El Dorado; children Dorthy Stafford of McPherson and David (Karen) VanBuskirk of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren Mikayla VanBuskirk, Andrew (Jessica) Stafford and Allycen (Ryan) Burton; sisters Fern Boyer of Augusta and Virginia Tharp of Severy and brother Dale (Barbara) Clubine of Moline, several nieces and nephews and brother in law Bud McNown. Phyllis passed away on February 27, 2019 in El Dorado. She is preceded in death by her parents, and siblings Warren Clubine, Ben Clubine, Mildred McNown and Robert Clubine.
