Peggy’s life began on October 18, 1931 in Ainsworth, NE. She is the daughter of Otto and Pearl (Penning) Lohse. Peggy is a 1950 graduate of El Dorado High School and went onto Butler County Community College for further education. She was united in marriage to Stanley D. Bourbon on July 28, 1956 in El Dorado. Stanley and Peggy operated a hotel and a barbershop in El Dorado for several years; they delivered the Wichita Eagle for several years and for the last 31 years Peggy was worked for Walmart in the fabric department. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and supporter of the Arbor Day Foundation. Peggy was an excellent cook and baker; an avid gardener and was always on the go. Her greatest joy was her family which includes her daughter Mary Bourbon of McCloud, OK; grandchildren Stephen (Donella) Bourbon of Ponca City, OK; Samantha Bourbon of Manhattan, KS and Sierra Boone of El Dorado; great grandchildren Sylas and River Bourbon; brother Jim Lohse of El Dorado, sister Judy Elrich of Auburn, KS, son in law Brad (Schrandra) Boone of El Dorado and beloved dog Domino. Peggy passed away at her home on Friday March 8, 2019. She is preceded in death by her parents and love of her life- husband Stanley. Her family will gather with friends on Friday from 5-7 p.m. at the Carlson Colonial Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church at 10 a.m. Peggy will be laid to rest in Sunset Lawns Cemetery.
