Novalee Mikel

Novalee’s life began on February 2, 1934 in Seiling, OK; the daughter of Guy and Ada (Trim) Nixon. She was united in marriage to the late John C. Mikel Sr. on July 20, 1964. Novalee worked as a private care nurse and caregiver for many years. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and camping. Novalee especially loved her pets Skippy and Chico. Novalee’s greatest joy was spending time with her family which includes her son Tony Howe of El Dorado; grandchildren Jolela Stinnett, Stacy LaForge, T.J. Howe, and Willis Howe and 9 great-grandchildren. Novalee passed away on November 9, 2019 at her home in El Dorado. She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Pamela Howard, step-daughter Jeanetta Mikel, Johnny Ray Mikel and Avonna Mikel. A funeral service will be held at 1pm on Thursday, November 14 at 1pm at the Carlson Colonial Funeral Home in El Dorado. Novalee will be laid to rest at Towanda Cemetery.
