Myrtle "Marie" Keesler

Marie’s life began on August 28, 1932 in Bartlesville, OK. She is the daughter of Chuck and Grace (Dallas) Schwenker. Marie graduated from Barnsdall High School and later Asbury Nursing School in 1956 in Salina. Marie was united in marriage to the love of her life Richard “Keith” Keesler on May 6, 1962 in El Dorado at First Baptist Church. She worked at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita and as a private duty nurse until her retirement in 1992. She enjoyed doing Sudoku, watching Wheel of Fortune, bingo, floating down the Illinois River, the Kansas City Chiefs, Jayhawks, University of Oklahoma, and Wichita State teams. She also enjoyed spending time with her sisters. Her greatest joy was her family which includes her husband Keith of Eucha; daughters Cindy Milham of Towanda and Becky Keesler of Benton; son in law Herbert Guerrero; grandchildren Melissa and Dustin Milham, Eric (Randi) and Jessica Guerrero; great grandchildren Evan, Elena, Hayley, and Mylie Beth; siblings Rose Benroth, Shirley Bailey, Sue (Dick) Biddle, Bill Schwenker, and Bob (Wilma) Schwenker. Marie entered eternal rest on January 25, 2018 at her home. She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Beth Guerrero and sister Betty Brown. Her family will gather with friends on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home where her funeral service will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. led by Pastor Wade Graber. She will be laid to rest in Walnut Valley Memorial Park, El Dorado. Memorial contributions in her name may be directed to Compassus Hospice.
