Michael “Mike” Lemke’s life began on September 1, 1942 in Anthony, KS; the son of Herbert and Gwendolyn (Morse) Lemke. Mike worked hard for his family in heavy highway construction as a supervisor. He was united in marriage to Cynthia (Wiens) Taylor on October 3, 1981 at the Slate Valley Baptist Church in Oxford, KS. Mike loved volunteer work and helped lead the Mission El Dorado organization. He enjoyed woodworking and working with his hands crafting treasures for family and friends. He and Cynthia were active in the Hope Covenant Church since it was started in 2004. His greatest joy was his family, which includes his wife, Cynthia of El Dorado; children Denise (Robert) Unruh of El Dorado, Melissa (Shane) Smith of Rosalia and Tina (Doug) Mounday of Olathe; grandchildren Evan Unruh, Easton Unruh, Brett (Lauren Taylor) Petty, Kyle (Chelsea) Anderson, Kayela (Rick) Roberson; great grandchildren Ellie, Ian, Saige, Hallie and Harper; sister in law Mona Lemke of Arkansas City; sister, Suellen Matthews of Ft. Worth, TX and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mike passed away on December 29, 2021 at his home in El Dorado. He is preceded in death by his sons Mitch and John Lemke; great granddaughter Mya Roberson, sister Vickie Jelinek; brother David Lemke and his parents. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, January 8th, at Hope Covenant Church, 2585 Debra Drive, El Dorado, Ks at 10am. followed by lunch and visitation.
