Michael "Mike" Harden

Michael “Mike” Harden’s life began on January 8, 1961 in Colorado Springs, CO; the son of Robert and Marie (Yeakel) Harden. Mike had a passion for education and earned a bachelor’s degree from Southwestern College. He was united in marriage to Sheila Tredway on June 15, 1985 in Oxford, KS. Mike taught at the El Dorado Correctional Facility for over 20 years. He was a do-it-yourself kind of guy. He renovated the family home himself. Mike enjoyed golfing and being active. He enjoyed sports, watching baseball and football. He especially enjoyed being involved in his children’s sports activities and coached often. Mike loved his poker nights and fishing trips with friends. Mike loved to spend time with his loving family, which includes his wife Sheila of El Dorado; children Nicole (Blake) Jacques of El Dorado and Clint (Hannah) Harden of Wichita; grandchildren Maci Jacques, Lucas Jacques and Callie Harden; siblings Marcy (Steve) Stewart of El Dorado and Laura (Don) Taylor of Mesquite, TX as well as several nieces and nephews. Mike passed away on April 25, 2022 in El Dorado. He is preceded in death by his parents. Cremation has taken place and friends may gather with the family from 5-7pm on Thursday, May 5 at Kirby-Morris Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held on Friday, May 6, at 2pm at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home. Memorial contributions in Mike’s name may be directed to the American Heart Association.
