Mary Ann’s life began on January 24, 1931 in Wichita. She is the daughter of Roscoe and Marietta (Crowley) Harrington. Mary Ann was united in marriage James F. Hays, Sr. on October 29, 1950 at First Christian Church in El Dorado. She was employed by Citizen’s Bank in El Dorado, Eureka Federal Bank in El Dorado and Augusta and the Butler County Treasurers office. Mary Ann was a member of First Christian Church, the Eastern Star, Business and Professional Women and USD 490 Scholarship committee. Her greatest joy was her family which includes her sons Jim (Joann) Hays of Leon and Kevin (Lori) Hays of Andover, and 13 grandchildren. Mary Ann passed away Wednesday September 27, 2017 at Lakepoint of Augusta. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband. Her family will gather with friends on Friday from 5-7 p.m. at Carlson Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Carlson Funeral Home led by Pastor Stan Seymour. Mary Ann will be laid to rest in Garrison Cemetery. Memorial contributions in her name may be directed to the First Christian Church or the Shriner’s Hospital for Crippled Children.
