Tribute

Marvin was born on September 20, 1937 to Roy C. Davis and Hollie Esthes Webb of Augusta, Kansas. His father passed when he was 3 years old and he went to live with his grandparents. Marvin attended school in Towanda and graduated from Towanda High School in 1956. He worked in the oil fields and for Banks Construction, and for Belger Cartage Services in Wichita for 32 years. He also served proudly in the United States Army. Marvin married Phyllis Jean Burgess of El Dorado, Kansas on March 31, 1956. They had five children together. He enjoyed playing bingo, camping with his wife in Branson, Missouri and Yuma, Arizona, and he was also a member of the Elks Club and the American Legion. Marvin is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents; wife, Phyllis; daughter, Darla Davis; granddaughters, Alysha Davis and Shelly Baker Davis; grandsons, Teddy Davis, Arthur Lee III Rogers, and Marvin Davis Rogers; and great grandson, Trevor Wakefield.

He is survived by his children, Roy (Linda) Davis of El Dorado, Kansas, Anita (Davis) Mitchell of Towanda, Kansas, Marvin Davis Jr of Towanda, Kansas, and Tina (Davis) Leeper of Hutchinson, Kansas; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and 25 great-great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 20, 2020 from 5-7 pm with funeral services taking placing on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 2:00 pm, both at Carlson Funeral Home.
