MarJean’s life began on August 18, 1928 the daughter of Roy and Lola (Moler) Crissup. She was united in marriage to Max Shaffer and was later married to Paul Whiteside. MarJean was a homemaker and also drove school busses for Bluestem Schools for over 30 years. She enjoyed gardening and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. MarJean’s loving family includes her children Connie (Steve) Darnell of El Dorado, Kathy (Jack) Newcom of Leon, Jerry (Connie) Shaffer of Leon; grandchildren Angie (Brad) Clevenger of Benton, Brandie (Chad) Leep of Benton, Dustin Worrell of Leon, Nathan (Courtney) Worrell of Leon, Derek (Candace) Shaffer of Augusta, Jason (Heather) Holmes of Augusta, Amy Holmes of Augusta; 11 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren; sister Barbra Butts of El Dorado; brother Larry Crissup of Tennessee. MarJean passed away on March 6, 2019 in El Dorado. She is preceded in death by her husband Max, her parents and siblings Melbert Crissup, Ewondia Woods, Georgia Myers, Jack Crissup and Marie Hull. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 12 at 2 pm at Leon Cemetery. Memorial contributions in MarJean’s name may be directed to the Leon Senior Center.
