Maida’s life began on January 3, 1935 in Neodesha, KS; the daughter of Louis and Madge (Miller) Noel. She was united in marriage to Loren Denney in 1953. Maida earned her bachelor’s degree in special education and taught in Augusta for 23 years for the Butler County Co-op. After she retired, she was a special education consultant for Butler County for 5 years. She loved teaching and always had a positive attitude. She mentored 3 para professional educators who went on to teach special education and she had the privilege to watch all 3 retire. Maida enjoyed shopping and was a Star Trek fan or a Trekkie. She was a huge fan of the shopping networks. She loved collecting old dishes, Broken Column and cut glass. Her greatest joy was her family which includes her children Tama Carroll of Towanda, Lawrence (Peggy) Denney of Ozawkie; grandchildren Audra Goldwater of Towanda, Sean (Dominique) Carroll of Towanda, Amber Denney of Independence and April Denney of Park City; and 9 great grandchildren. Maida passed away on May 22, 2020 at her home in Towanda. She is preceded in death by her husband, Loren, son, Bradley Denney, her parents and brother, Gary Noel.
