Lura’s life began on June 23, 1925, the daughter of Ebb and Artha (Rains) Qualls in Sims, Arkansas. She attended Mt. Ida , Arkansas schools and married Raymond Jackson. She worked as a cook at an assisted living facility in Mt. Ida. Lura loved to go to the casino, play Bingo, going to Wal-Mart and her stuffed animals.
Her loving family includes her daughter, Sharon Lacey of El Dorado; brother, Lloyd Qualls of Visalia, California; her best friend, Paulette Johnson of El Dorado; several nieces and nephews, and her beloved pet Yorkie “Puppy”.
Lura was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond in 1990; siblings, Dossie Qualls, Lossie Pippin, Ebb Lee Qualls and her son-in-law, Ron Lacey. Lura passed away, Tuesday, January 9, 2018, having reached the age of 92 years old.
Her family will gather with friends on Friday, January 12, from 5-7 p.m. Her funeral service will be held Saturday, January 13, at 11:00 a.m. both at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at Rocky Cemetery in Sims, Arkansas on Saturday, January 20, at 2:00 p.m. with viewing at the cemetery prior to the graveside service.
