Lewis’s life began on December 24, 1948 in El Dorado. He is the first-born son of Henry and Arlene (Clark) Clayborn. Lewis grew up in El Dorado and was a graduate of El Dorado High School. After graduation, Lewis was drafted into the military and joined the United States Air Force, where he served his country for nearly 30 years. Lewis was very talented. He self-taught himself to play the piano, saxophone and was a superb singer. He enjoyed cooking for his family who will all miss his Mac N Cheese, Greens and so many other dishes he prepared. Lewis was a Kansas City Chiefs fan and loved watching football on TV. His greatest joy was his family which includes his children Tavares Clayborn of Las Vegas, NV, Henry Clayborn of Wichita, Shalona (Brian) Livingston of Las Vegas, Taw Taw White of Las Vegas and Arlene Clayborn of Las Vegas; sisters Penny (Poe) Brown of El Dorado, Dell Clayborn of El Dorado; brothers Norman Clayborn of Wichita, and Kent (Juli) Clayborn of Wichita; several grandchildren and great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews who he dearly loved. Lewis passed away on November 14, 2018 at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Carla Blanco-Diaz and his second wife Guy. His family will gather with friends on Sunday from 1-2 p.m. at the Carlson Colonial Funeral Home where his Homegoing service will begin at 2 p.m. led by Pastor Sandy Bland. Full Military honors will be rendered at the funeral home and burial will be at a later date in Sunset Lawns Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Lewis’s name may be directed to the funeral home.
