Lewis’s life began on January 8, 1953. He is the son of Melvin Barnett and Juanita (Weber) Garrison. Lewis was a 1971 graduate of El Dorado High School. He was united in marriage to the former Emma Stroud on October 26, 1989 in Miami, OK. Lewis was a professional truck driver from the age of 18 until his death. He loved hunting, fishing, playing golf, riding his motorcycle and spending time with his family. He loved to cook for his daughter Jeni, especially his hobo chicken. He was big on Taco Tuesday, and ice cold beer. Lewis loved having fun with his rowdy friends and they know who they are! His greatest joy was his family including his wife Emma Barnett of El Dorado; children Jeni Barnett, Jennifer (Monie) Gomez of El Dorado, Julie (Shea) Fowler of Towanda, and Jill (Nick) Armijo of El Dorado; grandchildren Shelby (Collin) Engraf, Rayann Gomez, Ashlynn Gomez, Gage Gomez, Mandy Fowler, Kaden Fowler, Kooper Fowler, Lauren Overley, Hunter Armijo, and Sydney Armijo; great grandchildren Genevieve Engraf and Grady Fowler; brothers Jerry Barnett of El Dorado, Cary (Lycrecia) Garrison of Augusta, Dary Garrison of El Dorado, and Tony Meyer of El Dorado and several nieces and nephews. Lewis passed away on March 7, 2018 at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital. He is preceded in death by his parents. His family will gather with friends on Friday from 5-7 p.m. at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home where his celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
