Lester Barrett

Lester E. Barrett, 72, of Rosalia, Kansas (formerly of Graham, Missouri), passed away Friday March 5th, 2021 at the Susan B Allen Memorial Hospital of El Dorado, Kansas.
Lester was born On September, 5th, 1948 to Ernest F. and Vernal E. (Clardy) Barrett of Skidmore, Missouri. Lester graduated from Nodaway-Holt High School in 1966 and led a full life as a farmer, a carpenter, a truck driver, and a lover of nature. He enjoyed fishing, camping, nurturing plants and animals, and caring for his family and friends. He was an Air Force Veteran that served in Vietnam, and loved his God and his Country.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father Paul V. Lawnick, sister Margaret Swaney, three brothers-in-law Ed Swaney, Walter Greene, and Glen Mitchell, grandson, Zachary “DJ” Barrett and two nieces, Michelle Greene and Kristen Barrett.
He is survived by Wife, Sherri L. (Owens) of 52 years, son Donald (Cathy) Barrett, and daughter Tera (Carl) Hudson, three grandsons, Kristopher Barrett, Barrett Hudson and Jacob Hudson, two sisters, Harriet Mitchel and Velma Greene, brother James (Linda) Barrett, and 25 nieces and nephews.
A graveside gathering is planned for 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Burr Oak Cemetery, Skidmore, Missouri.
