Larry Rehmert, 90, of Cassoday, Kansas passed away on June 6th, 2022. He was born at home in Kinsley, Kansas in June of 1931 to Ed and Ruby Rehmert. Larry graduated from Kinsley High School and began working for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company as a telephone lineman and ended his career as a “combination man” in Whitewater, Kansas after 37 years. He served in the Army and was stationed in Germany.

Upon retirement, Larry and Dede moved to the farm in Cassoday where he spent his days gardening, developing the property and spending time with family. He was active in his church and lived out his faith by giving generously of his time and talents serving his community and church. Larry was known for his quick wit, puns, and sense of humor.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings Orville, Vern, Wilbur, Darlene, Leoma and his grandchildren, Jessica and Mark. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Dede and his children Sam, Manuel (Martha), Rick (Shelli), Cheri (Jerry), Risa, Brian (Robin), Jon (Cindy), Dennis, Darren, Tami (Rodney) and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 10 at Cassoday Cemetery, Cassoday, KS at 1pm. Memorial contributions in Larry’s name may be directed to the Cassoday Community Church or River Cross Hospice. Please sign his online guestbook and leave a memory at www.carlsonkirbymorris.com
