Kathleen “Kathy” Hinnen McWilliams, of Towanda, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at the age of 74. Kathy was born to Kenneth and Maxine Hinnen on September 19, 1946 in Wichita, Kansas. After graduating from High School, she married Larry Wilson and they shared three children together. Larry and Kathy later divorced. She enjoyed being crafty, especially in making quilts, sewing, and crocheting. She also tended to her garden every year. Kathy did attempt to raise Koi fish, but the neighbor’s cat had something else in mind. When she wasn’t gardening or quilting, she worked for 22 years for the Kansas Turnpike Authority as a Toll Collector. She was a very loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Kathy is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Richard “Dick” Hinnen.
Kathy is survived by her children, Kenny (Gayla) Wilson, Chuck (Debbie) Wilson, and Jennifer (Greg) Owings; grandchildren, Stephanie, Sarah, Sandi, Patrick, Sierra, Jayden, Grady, and J.J.; five great grandchildren; brother, Terry (Connie) Hinnen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Hope Community Church in Andover, Kansas. Inurnment at McGill Cemetery in Potwin will follow the service.
