June’s life began on June 25, 1927 in Woodbine, KS. She is the daughter of Earl M. and Ruby M. (Froneberger) Montague. June was united in marriage to James Liggett on March 18, 1973 at the First Baptist Church in El Dorado. She attended and graduated from the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago with her Master’s degree. She was the educational director for the First Baptist Church for many years and a faithful Christian worshiper at the church. She had a kind and sweet smile and loved to sing along with her husband Jim. June was always a tailored, neat dresser and prided herself on being professional. She enjoyed travelling with her sister Laura and enjoyed her family. June is survived by her daughter Kristy Liggett of Nashville, TN; grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews. June passed away on April 14, 2018 at Lakepoint Nursing Home in El Dorado. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Jim and siblings Laura Claar and Philip Montague. Her family will gather with friends on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church where her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. She will be laid to rest in Blankenship Cemetery, Rosalia.
