Joshua’s life began on September 19, 1989 in Emporia. He is the son of Brenda (Curnutt) Duerksen and Timothy Duerksen. Joshua served his country in the United States Army with a deployment to Afghanistan. After serving his country, Joshua worked for several construction companies as a rod buster. He enjoyed playing his video games, heavy hard rock music, watching the History Channel, trap and target shooting and self-educating him self with You Tube videos. His loving family includes his mother Brenda (Alan Harvey) Duerksen of El Dorado, brother Jake Duerksen of Eureka, father Tim (Charlotte Smith) Duerksen of El Dorado, brother Robert Duerksen of El Dorado, special family Ross (Natoya) Harvey of Henrietta, OK, uncles Jon (Donna) Curnutt of Florence, KS, Stuart Jordan of Arkansas City, and aunt Sue Stevens of Wichita. Joshua passed away in his home on July 5, 2018. His family will gather with friends for a memorial tribute at home at a later date. Joshua will be laid to rest with military honors at Greenwood Cemetery, Eureka at a later date. Carlson Colonial Funeral Home is serving the family.
