John David Harris

John’s life began on September 25, 1950 in Aurora, MO: the son of Noel and Sarah “Ann” (Gold) Harris. John proudly served his country in the United States Navy and then in the Army Reserves. He earned his bachelor’s degree and then spent his life in Social Services, retiring as a vocational counselor for the blind. He was united in marriage to Pam McCloud on April 15, 2000. John loved shooting sports and was a huge history buff. He enjoyed going on nature walks and exploring cemeteries, looking at historic headstones. John’s greatest passion and joy was his family, which includes his wife, Pam of Buffalo, MO; children John (Shannon) Harris of Bangor, ME, Adrian Harris of Denver, CO, Vicki (Moses) McGowan of El Dorado, KS and Adam (Latrice) Davis of Grandview, MO; 5 grandchildren; siblings Kenneth and Tammy and mother, Ann Harris. John passed away on September 28, 2022 in El Dorado, KS. He is preceded in death by his father, Noel and his grandparents. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, October 5 at 10am at Winfield Veteran Cemetery in Winfield, KS.
