Joe A Philipi

Joe’s life began on October 17, 1929 in Piedmont, KS; the son of John and Lois (Osbourne) Philipi. He attended and graduated from Piedmont High School. Joe was united in marriage to Jo Garner on December 4, 1949 in Eureka, KS. They were married for 71 years. Joe loved his family and loved the Lord. He was dedicated to the First Baptist Church in El Dorado and followed his faith there since 1951. Joe loved attending his Sunday School class there as well. He and Jo enjoyed traveling in their RV and delivered Meals on Wheels for over 20 years. His loving family includes his wife, Jo of El Dorado; children Bob (Billie) Philipi of Wichita, Beverly (Stuart) Moddelmog of Moundridge, 6 grandchildren and 15 great-granchildren. Joe went to be with his Lord on January 31, 2021 in Wichita. He is preceded in death by his son Danny Joe, twin granddaughters and his sister Marie Collins and his parents. Friends may gather with the family from 5-7pm at Carlson Funeral Home on Thursday, February 4. Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Friday, February 5 at the First Baptist Church in El Dorado. Memorial contributions in Joe’s name may be directed to the First Baptist Church in El Dorado. Joe will be laid to rest at Piedmont Cemetery.
