Jimmy L. “Pops” Rodgers’ life began on September 27, 1960 in Wichita; the son of Alvin and Bettye (Dale) Rodgers. Pops faithfully served his country in the United States Army. He worked as a tree trimmer for over 30 years and eventually went on to work for Hogoboom Oilfield Trucking. Pops enjoyed riding motorcycles, spending time with family, going on road trips and making people laugh. He especially loved the 4th of July and was a member of the Bandidos Motorcycle Club. His greatest joy was his family, which includes his children Madison (Jacqueline Vasquez) Rodgers of Wichita, Cody (Bridget Cummings) Rodgers of Salina; siblings Linda (Larry) Swan of Florence, Glen Rodgers of Florence, Lisa (Heath) Lietzke of Leon; sister in laws Debbie Rodgers of Mulvane, Sheri Rodgers of St. Charles, MO. Pops passed away on December 22, 2019 in Wichita. He is preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter Crystal Rodgers; siblings Dwayne Rodgers and Garry Rodgers; infant sister Dorothy Rodgers and niece Anna Rodgers. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 4th 2020 at 2pm at the Elk’s Lodge of El Dorado. Memorial contributions are to the donor’s choice.
