Ivan’s life began on July 17, 1932, the son of John Adam and Verda Inez (Finley) Hart in Cave Springs, Arkansas. He graduated from Latham High School Class of 1950 in Latham, Kansas and married Audrien Colleen Thomas on March 22, 1985, in Miami, Oklahoma. He retired from Southwestern Bell as a telephone lineman.
Ivan was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and enjoyed doing yard work at the church. He and Audrien loved motorcycle riding, camping, fishing and gardening.
His loving family includes his step-son, Bobby Joe Claybrook of Jersey City, New Jersey; step-daughter, Donna Jo Ledford (Randy Klatt) of Canton and step-daughter-in-law, Carol Claybrook of San Antonio, Texas; step-grandchildren, William “Tyler” Ledford (Erin Page) of Marion, Kansas, Cole Ledford (Taylor Goering) of Galva, Kansas, Dakin Ledford of Burns, Kansas, Adam Claybrook (Stephany Worsthorn) of Jersey City, Charlie Claybrook of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Alison Schoenhofer of San Antonio, Kris Klatt of Canton, Kansas, Jason Klatt of Canton, Kansas and Amy (Caleb) Lohmolder of McPherson, Kansas; and one great-granddaughter, Montana Ledford.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Audrien Hart in 2016; brother, Phillip and a sister, Marian. Ivan passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 27, 2019, having reached the age of 86 years old.
His family will gather with friends on Tuesday, April 2, from 10-11 a.m. at Carlson Funeral Home where his funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. The family will have a private burial in Sunset Lawns Cemetery.
