Isabel Ruth Mangels passed away on July 29, 2019, in Wichita. Isabel was born on March 28, 1927, in Moline, Kansas, the daughter of Howard and Winifred (Jones) Watts. She graduated as the Class Valedictorian in 1945 from Rosalia High School. Isabel was united in marriage to John Kormanik, and then later to Don Mangels. She had worked as a typist and payroll clerk for the State of Kansas Highway Department. Her greatest joy in life was her family, which includes her children Bill Kormanik of McPherson, Joseph (Carla) Kormanik of Alta Vista, Ruth Wallace of Wichita, and Mary Lou (Leon) Baker of Wichita; step children, Kent (Linda) Mangels and Cheryl (Barry) Dirks; grandchildren, Lynda (Paul) Bishop, Bryan Wallace, Ben (Brier) Kormanik, Amber (Jason) Jones, Kayci (Preston) Bailey, Kelci (Andy) Naill and Brittney Dirks; and 18 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Kormanik and after his passing, her second husband, Don Mangels; son, John M. Kormanik; grandson, Jason Kormanik; siblings, Dorothy, Doris Ann, Adeline, Francis, Helen, Mary, Ethel, Velma, Ralph and Stanley. Isabel’s family will gather with friends on Sunday, August 4, 2019 from 3-5 PM at Carlson Funeral Home. Services will be held on Monday, August 5, 2019, at Carlson Colonial Chapel at 10:30 AM; burial will follow at Blankinship Cemetery.
