Ida Raylene Gaston, 72, of El Dorado, Kansas, passed away on January 9th, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.
Ida was born in Wichita, Kansas on October 2nd, 1950 to Charles Edwin and Anna Marie (Rose) Wilson. After graduating from Wellington High School, Ida attended dental assistant school at the Bryan Institute, where she graduated in 1988.
Ida married her beloved husband, Steven Gaston of El Dorado, Kansas on May 27th, 2000. They shared a beautiful life together and were blessed with 10 children, 37 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.
Ida had many talents and many jobs throughout her life. She loved helping people and she thrived in her customer service jobs, both in retail and food service. She was a great seamstress and tailor, often making clothes, dolls, and cherished items for her children and grandchildren that have been passed down from one generation to the next. She loved family get-togethers and spending time outdoors. Ida’s family will always remember her for being a fantastic wife, a loving mother, and the best Grandma/Meemaw to all of her grandchildren.
Ida’s kind and loving heart will be truly missed by all who knew her, especially her family which includes her husband, Steven Gaston; her children, Sheri Macias, Lori (Jim) Ryan, Micheal Macias, Mandy Macias, Kelly (Steve) Barber; her step-children, Scott (Deena) Gaston, Stacy (Trish) Blaisdell, Susan (Daniel) Williams, Brandi (Michael) McHaley; her nephew, Mark Claytor; her nieces, Jennifer (Josh) McMillan and DeeAnna (Sheri) Claytor; and of course her beloved and spoiled dog, Barney.
Ida is preceded in death by her parents; her step-son, Justin Gaston; grandson, Noah Macias; 3 brothers; 3 sisters.
Ida’s family and friends will gather at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home for visitation on Thursday, January 12th from 6-8pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 13th at 11:00am at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be directed to Kansas Heart Hospital.
