Helen Marie Marley

Helen Marie Marley, 92, passed into her heavenly home on March 22, 2018 in Kingwood, Texas.  Helen was born the 4th of 13 children to parents Clifford and Minnie Jackson on June 4, 1925 in Humboldt, Kansas.  After graduating from El Dorado High School, Helen married the love of her life, Donald L. Marley on September 28, 1946.  Helen was proud of her three daughters and enjoyed teaching them how to sew and leading their Girl Scout Troop.  She enjoyed traveling with her family, gardening, golfing, loved animals, and they always loved her as well.  Helen was an avid reader and a dedicated volunteer to many organizations.  She was a board member of the Friends of the Library, a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi, member of the Delphian Society, and was a past president and lifetime member of the North Shore Medical Womens Auxiliary.  Helen was the 2nd biggest Astros fan, 2nd only to her husband, and enjoyed supporting her team since 1968 in the Astrodome and Minute Maid Park, and even traveling with her husband to see them during spring training.  Her kind spirit will remain in the memory of her family.  Helen is lovingly survived by her husband of 71 years, Donald L. Marley; daughters, Brona Hamlin and husband Don, Suzanne McEachern, Lisa Lancaster and husband Joe; siblings, Orval Jackson and Larry Jackson; grandchildren, Danielle Wilkes and husband Seth, Chris Lancaster, Laura Lancaster; step-grandchildren, Wayne Hamlin, Michelle Bunselmyer; great-grandson, Ethan Wilkes; step-great grandchildren, Tyler Hamlin, Malenna Hamlin, Dianna Hamlin, Samantha Bunselmyer, Andrew and Donnie Bunselmyer; 4 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.  Friends are welcome to join the family for visitation from 11:00 a.m. until her Celebration of Life which will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 in the chapel of Carter-Conley Funeral Home.  Visitation in Kansas will be held from 12:00-1:00 p.m. on Tuesday April 3rd at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home, El Dorado Graveside Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday April 3rd at Walnut Valley Memorial Park, El Dorado.   Memorial contributions in her name may be directed to the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Society, or charity of your choice in Helen’s memory.   Please sign her online guestbook and leave a memory of Helen at www.carlsoncolonial.com.
