Gregory Alvin Money, age 46, died Sunday, April 12, 2020 at Johnson County Medical Center in Shawnee, KS following a battle of the COVID-19 virus.
He was born October 30, 1973 in Colorado Springs, CO to his father Guy Money, Jr. and his mother Treva (Mitchell) Foster. He attended El Dorado schools from kindergarten through 12th grade, graduating in 1993. He also attended college in Fort Scott for a short time. He then went on to complete some classes to become a physical therapist, massage therapist and personal trainer.
Greg had a passion for sports (especially football) and being fit and athletic. He was a body builder as well. In his younger days he loved to break dance with his friends and was really very good at it. He was competitive in just about anything.
Greg is survived by his daughter Breanna Money and her fiancé Dustin Blake; and two grandsons Liam and Jack of Galva, KS. He is also survived by his siblings Linda and Jodi Money of Cortland, OH; Jack and Alpha Money of Fort Scott, Mike Money of El Dorado, Rebecca and Terry Tate of El Dorado, and Guy Money III of Wichita as well as many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, his loving mother, Treva and his brother Phillip Money.
A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, May 2 at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home in El Dorado. Due to the governor’s stay at home orders, there is a limit of 10 people that may attend the service. We invite you to go to www.carlsoncolonial.com where there is a link that you may live-stream the funeral at 2pm. We hope you will join us there. As soon as the orders are lifted; a Celebration of Life dinner will be held as well.
