Tribute

On Wednesday, December 19, 2018 Glenn William Lewis loving husband, father and brother, passed away at the age of 86. Glenn W. Lewis, the son of Page Blakeway Lewis and Jessie Eunice Grove, was born September 14, 1932 in Eureka, Kansas. He graduated from Leon High School in 1950.
Glenn served in the US Army from 1954-1956 and was honorably discharged. He married Karen Kay Miller June 3, 1956 and they had four children. Glenn and Karen owned a gas station in Eureka, Kansas.
Glenn became involved in the oil industry while living in Kansas and worked alongside two of his uncles; Floyd and Leonard Grove. He worked in the oil industry for many years in Colorado, Idaho, Utah and Wyoming. He worked as a driller, toolpusher and as a superintendent of several crews for Loffland Brothers and Apollo Drilling.
Glenn retired and moved to the family ranch in 1994. Glenn married Elva L Young Schouten April 26, 2003 and they lived on the family ranch, in the house Page Lewis built.
Glenn will be lovingly remembered and is survived by his wife Elva, his four children: Debbie Gorski (Charles) Laramie, Wyoming: Vickie Hornbuckle (Brent) Reserve, New Mexico: Sharie Crummer (Montey) Glenrock, Wyoming: Glenn R Lewis (Rena) Glenrock, Wyoming. Three step-children, Joy Clawson (Buck) Andover, Kansas: Donn Schouten Latham, Kansas and Wanda Dudgeon (Brad) Latham, Kansas: his brother Daryl D and sister-in-law Judith Lewis (family ranch-Piedmont, Kansas) and his brother Page Robert Lewis (El Tigre, Venezuela). nephew Linton Lewis (Cindy) Aiken, South Carolina: and niece Sarah Lewis (El Tigre, Venezuela). Glenn will also be remembered by 20 grandchildren, several great grand- children, numerous extended family and friends.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents Page and Jessie Lewis, and stepson Kenn Schouten (Judy-surviving wife).
A viewing will be held on Saturday, December 29 from noon -2:00 pm at the Beaumont Community Church in Beaumont, Kansas. Funeral service for Glenn will immediately follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor Montey Crummer officiating. Interment will follow at the Star Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Beaumont Community Center across from the Beaumont Hotel.
Memorial donations in memory of Glenn may be made to the Beaumont Christian Cowboy Church.
