George’s life began on May 20, 1928 in Rosalia. He is the son of Chauncey W. and Bessie (Kistler) Frisbie. George is a 1945 graduate of Clements High School. He was united in marriage to the former Jean Ludwig on January 11, 1946 in Emporia. George had a 34 year career with Skelly, Getty and Texaco Oil at the El Dorado refinery, retiring on the last day of 1984. He and Jean enjoyed square dancing and belonged to the Chelsea Swinging Squares. George enjoyed travelling, hunting and fishing. He could fix or build anything including the family home and the home of his son. George enjoyed life to the fullest. His greatest joy was his family which includes his wife of 71 years, Jean Frisbie of El Dorado, his son Scott (Dana) Frisbie of Towanda; grandchildren Josh Hertel, Andi Hertel, Jake Frisbie, Jessie Frisbie, Derek Kling and Danielle Kling; and several great grandchildren. George passed away on December 21, 2017 at his home. He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Beverly Hertel, granddaughter Tiffini Hertel, and brothers Jim Frisbie and Glen Frisbie. His family will gather with friends from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Tuesday December 26th at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home where his funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. led by Pastor Stan Seymour. George will be laid to rest in Sunset Lawns Cemetery. Memorial contributions in George’s name may be directed to the El Dorado Senior Center.
