Tribute

Gail’s life began on February 17, 1952, the daughter of Warren Mack and Francis Lorraine (Bumbaugh) Allen in Manhattan, Kansas. She graduated from El Dorado High School Class of 1970, and attended Butler Community College. She married Curtis Eugene Jilg on May 23, 1971 in El Dorado, KS. Last Wednesday they celebrated 47 years of marriage. Gail was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Beta Sigma Phi, and S & B Club. Gail retired from USD 490 after 18 years of service in special education. She loved spending time with her family, including her kids, grandkids, and all of her extended “kids”.

Her loving family includes her husband, Curtis of the home; son, Kirk, and his wife, Cynthia Jilg of The Woodlands, Texas; daughter, Kari, and her husband, Brian Caldwell of Denver, Colorado; sister, Kim, and her husband, David Lawrence, and their son Eric of Manhattan, Kansas; four grandchildren, Zach, Nathan, and Tyler Jilg and Mac Caldwell.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a niece, Hope Lawrence. Gail passed away after a strong, courageous battle on Friday, May 25, 2018, having reached the age of 66 years.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, June 1, at 3:00 pm at Trinity United Methodist Church with Pastor Micki McCorkle and Pastor Steve Hysom officiating.
