Fata Lu Hand

Fata L. Hand, 93, passed away Wednesday, December 29th, 2021.Fata was born March 6, 1928 in Wichita, Kansas to Edna and Floyd Schlesinger and was one of 11 children.
Fata was the loving wife of 59 years of Thomas C. Hand, the wonderful mother of Randy Graham (Lisa), Gay Graham Erwin, Scott Graham (Nora), and Tim Hand (Marie), and loving grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Fata moved with her family from Wichita to El Dorado her senior year of high school and graduated from El Dorado High School. She then attended El Dorado Junior College. Fata worked as a bookkeeper for the local J.C. Penney store for over 10 years. She then enjoyed a long and successful career in real estate, partnering with her husband Tom to establish Hand Realty and attaining a G. R. I. professional designation. Fata’s life loves were her church, her family, her many friends, cooking, and FREYA. Fata was an avid bridge player. She was a member of the St. John’s Altar Society. She was a beautiful, faith filled, elegant, loving, selfless person, and the matriarch of her family. Friends may gather with the family from 5-7pm and a Vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 3rd, 2022 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 302 N. Denver St., El Dorado, KS 67042. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 4th, 2022 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
